Once Upon A Child Haul #1

Have you ever heard of a kids clothing store called Once Upon A Child? We found out about this store not too long ago, and luckily it’s only 15 minutes drive from our place. Personally, I love the place. We found great stuff for the boys for the Winter season. It doesn’t get too cold here in Louisiana, so shopping for long sleeve shirts ahead of time is a great idea.

What’s In The Store?

Not only do they sell clothing for children, but they also buy gently used children’s clothing, shoes, toys, and baby gear! Be sure to check them out. I’m sure you’re going to love it!

By the way, the shirts that my boys are wearing below were on clearance and was a dollar each ($1.00) only!

Kikay Style: Kimono Style Floral Dress

Hello everyone! How are you doing? I know I have been #MIA for weeks due to a busy #mommyhood life. I have two little hyper active boys that I have to deal with. By the time they’re in bed I’m also too tired to write anything. My brain just doesn’t work. And when I’m too tired, I couldn’t think of anything but go to sleep.

Anyway, today I’m sharing this very pretty dress. I’m not a dress person, to be honest. However, when I see one that I like, I have to make sure also that the material feels soft and cool to my skin. This dress is perfect!

This Kimono style summer dress is made out of floral print fabric. It also features an elastic waistband and a string tie at the back of the neck.

Now, this dress is quite long. I’m only 4’11” and this dress is way too long for me. I had to wear 5-inch heels during this shoot because I don’t want to step on the bottom part of my dress and ruin it. U-uh, no way!

MIA NICOLE

It has been years since the last time I had seen this pretty young lady. Finally, after all those years I was able to see her again. Not only did I saw her, but also had a quick photoshoot of her. Luckily, I was able to capture a few photos of her when all of a sudden the rain poured on us. Our excitement was cut short, but it’s okay there is always another time.

Her name is Mia Nicole. Isn’t that a very pretty name?

Fine Arts Photography

It’s been a while since I’ve done some outdoor Fine Art photography and I’ve really missed doing it. The thing about Fine Art photography, for me, is that when I go out I need to have a lot of uninterrupted time for walking around, scoping out the surroundings, determining the right angles and finding the right location or subject to capture. Fine Art Photography is not about what the camera sees. It’s all about what the artist sees and feel.

To be honest, when I’m in that mood; I don’t want any distractions. I don’t want to feel rushed having to move from one place to another. Unfortunately, I can’t focus on doing that when I go out with my kiddos because my attention and focus will be on them. However, I’m going to do my best to re-engage in Fine Art photography and share it with you guys. Before I go, I would like to share a few of my Fine Art photography photos below. I know you’ll like them!

Swimming Day at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park

NORDSTROM.com

Hi everyone, how’s your weekend so far? I hope you are having a great week! Okay, so today we went to Poverty Point Reservoir for swimming. It’s a 45-minute drive from my town. Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is located in Delhi, Lousiana.

We got there just in time. There were only a few groups enjoying the sand and moderately warm water when we arrived. However, just 30 minutes after we arrived, an influx of people descended on the beach. All I can say is that this place is really a good choice to visit especially for swimming during the Summer since Northern Louisiana doesn’t really have sand beaches as you would expect to have if you were in Florida, Texas or any tropical island. Even with the sandy beach at Poverty Point, I was still imagining that we were on a “real” beach. Despite the lack of palm trees and warmer weather, we had a blast!
