Taking The Boys To Watch Dolittle (Short Video Clip)

We were glad the boys sat the whole time while watching Dolittle though my eight-year-old was a little wiggly for minutes. But, he finally settles down when he moved to another empty seat. I guess he wants to be on his own, lol, he is a little independent. And about the movie, we all enjoyed it! It’s a perfect family movie, especially for the little ones ♥♥♥.

Restoration Park: Walking In Nature With My Family

It has been a while since our family went walking on trails at a park. So, the other day we went to Restoration Park, in West Monroe, to try out the trails there. We started out at 6:00 p.m and finished a little after 7:00 p.m. Restoration Park is located in 700 Downing Pines Rd, West Monroe, LA 71292. This park was a former strip mine converted into a wetland habitat. Gosh, it’s beautiful out there!

It felt so good sweating while walking on the trail. The humidity wasn’t bad at all by 6:00 p.m. Also, I was so proud of my boys. They were very well behaved from start to finish. And guess what? The one-hour walking helped them slept all night.

Usually, when you go walking you feel tired at night. But it wasn’t the case for me. I couldn’t even remember when was the last time I ever felt relaxed until that evening after walking.

There are numerous physical and mental health benefits of walking. I noticed that every time we go out for a walk it helps me relax all night. Not only that but also helps me think clearly. I’m not sure about you, or how do you feel after taking a walk, but it helps me feel healthier. Walking with my family is a very good idea. Aside from just having company with me it was also a time to bond and see the beauty of nature around us. How about you? Do you prefer to go for a walk alone? Or with family?

Swimming Day at Poverty Point Reservoir State Park

NORDSTROM.com

Hi everyone, how’s your weekend so far? I hope you are having a great week! Okay, so today we went to Poverty Point Reservoir for swimming. It’s a 45-minute drive from my town. Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is located in Delhi, Lousiana.

We got there just in time. There were only a few groups enjoying the sand and moderately warm water when we arrived. However, just 30 minutes after we arrived, an influx of people descended on the beach. All I can say is that this place is really a good choice to visit especially for swimming during the Summer since Northern Louisiana doesn’t really have sand beaches as you would expect to have if you were in Florida, Texas or any tropical island. Even with the sandy beach at Poverty Point, I was still imagining that we were on a “real” beach. Despite the lack of palm trees and warmer weather, we had a blast!

FUN DAY AT KIROLI PARK

We had fun at Kiroli Park on this day. We (my family ) were a little surprised when we saw this new little playground. This playground is actually for the toddlers but my boys love playing there anyway. This playground is so adorable! The last time we came here, we went directly to “The Smiles Park” which is located on the other side of the park. That’s why we didn’t realize this specific original play area was reconstructed into the new little playground that is here now. We drove by at “The Smiles Park” but that area was crowded. It’s really hard to watch the kids playing when it is overwhelmingly crowded. So, we slowly walked around and found this little playground. It was just perfect! We stayed in this area for an hour and the boys really had fun.

Kiroli Park also has a trail. Walking on the trail was a great idea too! I’m a nature lover. Walking around the trail not only relaxes my mind, it also makes me appreciate the beauty of nature more and more. It’s just beautiful!
The trail is good for all skill levels and is primarily used for hiking, walking, and nature trips. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on a leash.

ABOUT KIROLI PARK

Kiroli Park offers 150 acres of nature’s beauty. Within the park, you can enjoy several playgrounds, a unique conservatory, a dog park, tennis courts, numerous gardens, picnic areas, fishing ponds, and hiking trails. Most of the park is wooded and accessible through paved streets and trails that hold surprises like a suspension bridge, covered bridge, observation tower, and elevated walkways… ( Read More ).

WHAT DOES “KIROLI” MEANS?

Kiroli Park’s name combines the first two letters of the Kiwanis, Rotary and the Lions clubs who purchased the land in 1925 to give to the Boy Scouts of America as a camp.
