Before, I used to talk to myself when I’m all alone in the house. Whenever Sean works in the office, and the boys are in school, I’m home all by myself; and I talk to myself most of the time. But since last year, when Sean brought Daisy (our dog) home, everything changed. She is so sweet and such a mommy’s girl. Daisy loves to sleep on my lap whenever she can. She will compete with the boys and always wins ♥♥♥.
Hi all, I have been MIA for days on my blog. I had been a busy and exhausted mom for days. School is out for Thanksgiving break, and you (parent/parents) know what that means. My boys are like “mommy, mommy, mommy all day long.” Especially my little one, he can talk all day long for sure. The only time I have a break from them is when they are napping and when they are in bed at night, hehe. But I love them to the moon and back.
Anyway, last Saturday, I had so much fun capturing my dear friend and her daughter’s Christmas mini session. You can check this session here. The location I chose was the Dilliard’s store. It was a perfect location for this session. Dilliard’s has a wide variety of lovely Christmas decorations throughout their store. It was just perfect!
Have you ever heard of the Nygard brand? I’m wearing Nygard denim pants. When it comes to pants, I have been a Nygard’s biggest fan for 4 years now. I love every Nygard leggings and pants that I have. So worth the price! You should try this brand. I highly recommend this brand.
While having a cup of coffee this morning and staring at the dishes piling on the sink, a flashed back of my childhood memory came back. It is one of those annoying childhood experienced at that time; however, right now, looking back at it, I would say, “that was hilarious.” When I was about seven or eight-years-old, my father implemented this rule. It was all about dishes problem
First Attempt: That my older siblings and I had to take turns in washing the dishes after mealtime. At first, it was okay! But you know, kids don’t stick to the rules mos lt of the time. My siblings and I were one of those kids. Later on, nobody wants to wash the dishes anymore. My siblings and I were pointing fingers to who’s supposed to be washing dishes after mealtime. We ended up arguing, lots of crying and throwing a tantrum. My dad would give us three warnings, and if we don’t listen, we better expect my dad with a whooping stick coming our way like a tornado. My mom is quite and always able to keep herself calm. She was so patient with us growing up and doesn’t believe in whooping. I wish to have that kind of patient like my mom has. Well, that first rule didn’t work out!
Second Attempt: The very last one to finish the meal will wash the dishes and clean the table. Now, this was ridiculous (but makes me laugh right now). I remember, whenever my mom announces that the meal is ready, my siblings and I had to rush to the kitchen, wash our hands, sit on the chairs, pray for the food, and eat as fast as we could. (My sister, by the way, likes to kick my legs under the table to distract my concentration, hahaha. I remember, one time, she was kicking our father’s legs instead of mine, hahaha). Back to that rule, yes, we had to eat fast, take our plates, and put them on the sink as quickly as we could. The last one to do that will wash the dishes. Did it work? Nope, it was chaos! Even my mom and dad had to eat fast, trying to beat us, lol! So, my father had to think about a new and final rule. A rule that everybody would agree to do so. No arguing. No fighting. No throwing tantrum.
Third & Final Attempt: How about “Wash your own dishes” rule? Oh, yeah, this rule worked! After mealtime or snack time, we automatically wash our dishes — no more pointing fingers, no rushing to finish our meals, and, most of all, no more arguing.
Since then, my family applied that rule to doing our laundry and not depend on our mom to do the laundry all by herself. So each of us, including my father, had to do our own laundry.
How about you? What was the most annoying house rule you had experienced growing up that is, in fact, hilarious?
How do you like this cold weather so far? As I’ve mentioned in my previous posts, I am not fond of cold weather at all. This cold weather makes my knees hurt, hahaha. Maybe it sounds funny, but it’s true! I’m probably too young to say that my knees hurt, but in cold weather like this, it does hurt. It also makes me feel sleepy all the time. Not only that, this cold weather makes me tired and also makes me want to have Pho every day. Hmmm, I need to learn how to cook Pho to save me $15.00 per order (big bowl). This Pho from Bangkok Spice, located in West Monroe, tasted good! Every time we dine-in or ordering on the phone, I always get the Pho. Sometimes I added crispy rolls to go with my Pho. In the meantime, I’ll have to keep me warm until this cold weather is over. Cause everyone else in the house except me is loving this cold weather so far.
It’s not even Winter yet, and here I am already missing Summer. My body is active, more energetic, and stronger on warmer days. In colder days, I feel weak, achy, tired, and lazy. There you go, I laid them all out. I’m sure, I’m not the only one dealing this dilemma.
My question to you is, “How is this cold weather affects your body?”
We had a great Sunday at church yesterday morning. Powerful praise and worship. Most of all, listening to the word of God through our Pastor’s preaching – always the best part! So glad to also see some wonderful friends as well.
After the service, we headed out to Ate Nelda and Kuya Mike’s residence to have a lunch fellowship with friends and also a celebration for seeing Ate Rose and Irish again. They are now both residing in other states. So, we won’t be seeing them back for a while. Many thanks to Ate Nelda and Kuya Mike for opening their home for us and for all the delicious (masarap) food they prepared. It was a fun-filled and such a beautiful day.
Have you ever been to a Filipino get together? If you did, then you already know that we love to eat, laugh a lot, talk a lot, and sing karaoke, hahaha. If you haven’t yet, now you know, lol!
I’m physically exhausted after working for seven days straight. When I’m at work, I always give my best to do my job well done because I was hired and get paid for it. I do not particularly appreciate going to work and do nothing. It’s not who I am. Thank God; finally, it’s my day off today. I woke up so late, had brunch, went back to bed, and got up at 1:00 p.m. Sounds good, right? However, there was nothing to be excited about this day off. You know why? The day just went by so fast. The next thing I know it’s 5:00 p.m, and I haven’t done any house chores except washing the dishes only. I usually multitask in doing house chores, but I didn’t have the energy to do those things today. I am not even cooking for dinner! The easiest thing was going out to eat for dinner and came back home right after. So, right now, I’m just sitting right here relaxing and sharing with you about how my day off goes. Well, honestly, it doesn’t feel like a day off to me at all!
So, my question to you is, “How do you spend your day off ?”
Last night when I got home from work, I was physically worn out. I told Sean, I’m going to be sleeping today and do nothing. Thankfully, he doesn’t have any problem with that. He is so supportive of me in everything. So yes, I woke up late this morning, and he even told me to go back to sleep if I wanted to. He is amazing! However, I need my morning coffee rather than going back to bed, lol.
It was a hectic day at work yesterday. Seven hours of work seemed like forever. I was exhausted! I’m so grateful that I’m off this whole weekend. At least, I can relax and recover fast (hopefully) from being so physically tired.
By the way, let’s talk about FALL Season. Finally, Autumn is here. Gosh, you have no idea how excited I am. Just to let you know, this is my favorite season of the year. I don’t like the Winter season because I hate cold. I don’t like the Spring season because of allergies. Summer is okay, but I’m not a big fan of it because it’s too hot! How about you? What is your favorite season of the year, and why?
Hello everyone! How are you doing? I know I have been #MIA for weeks due to a busy #mommyhood life. I have two little hyper active boys that I have to deal with. By the time they’re in bed I’m also too tired to write anything. My brain just doesn’t work. And when I’m too tired, I couldn’t think of anything but go to sleep.
Anyway, today I’m sharing this very pretty dress. I’m not a dress person, to be honest. However, when I see one that I like, I have to make sure also that the material feels soft and cool to my skin. This dress is perfect!
This Kimono style summer dress is made out of floral print fabric. It also features an elastic waistband and a string tie at the back of the neck.
Now, this dress is quite long. I’m only 4’11” and this dress is way too long for me. I had to wear 5-inch heels during this shoot because I don’t want to step on the bottom part of my dress and ruin it. U-uh, no way!
Hi everyone, how’s your Friday so far? I hope you are doing well! Mother’s day is Sunday. To all moms including myself, HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO US! I’m a mom of two little boys and they are my precious gifts from God. They are the reason why I stayed strong despite all the motherhood trials. I’m so grateful to God for having them in my life.
Anyway, for this post I would like to share three of my new favorites for this week.
