My U.S. Naturalization Oath Taking Ceremony

Last Friday was my U.S. Naturalization Oath Taking ceremony in New Orleans. It’s a five (5) hours drive from my town. We left Thursday after I picked up my boys at school. We arrived in New Orleans a little after 9 p.m. Checked in late at the hotel we stayed in for the night. The hotel we stayed at is called Brent House Hotel. This hotel is attached to Ochsner Medical Center located on Jefferson Highway near Uptown New Orleans. From the hotel, it was only a 15-minute drive to where my Oath Taking ceremony took place.

AT THE CEREMONY

We arrived at the USCIS facility before nine (9) in the morning. The ceremony started a little after ten (10) and was over at about twelve (12) noon. I wasn’t sure how the other applicants felt that day but I was a little emotional. After I applied, I waited eleven (11) months for this very special day. After living in the USA for a decade, who wouldn’t get emotional?

AFTER THE CEREMONY

Now it’s time to celebrate! My boys are so ready to explore around New Orleans. They are loving this busy city so far.

Knit Sweater Kind Of Day

It’s Spring season, however, it doesn’t feel like it. It’s been raining for days and it’s really nasty outside. Even my furry baby (my dog) doesn’t wanna go out. So, for days I’m back to wearing sweaters. Just the lighter ones, not those thick sweaters. This knit sweater I am wearing below is just perfect!

I don’t know why, but I get to feeling cold too quick, especially in this kind of weather. I’m from a tropical country (Philippines) and I love to feel cozy all the time. Who doesn’t want to feel cozy anyway? Right? Spring is not my favorite season at all. When it’s not raining during Spring, I will be so miserable because of my allergies, and I can’t stay outside longer because of the pollen. Thankfully, the rain helps reduce my allergies to pollen. On the other hand, when it’s raining, I can’t wear t-shirts because I always feel cold too quick. Hmm, what should I do? Can anybody relate to this?

About this sweater? I got this from Belk like a year ago. I love this sweater so much. Honestly, this is my most favorite and comfortable knit sweater ever! Also, I only paid under $10.00 for this including tax.

My Belk Look: Y’all Come On Feel The Noise

Hello Y’all! How’s everybody doing? I hope you’re all in good health. Today, I’m sharing with you these two Belk tank tops. I love the graphic prints and I also loved the price. Guess what? Each cost under $10! I really wanted to get these styles in different colors but unfortunately, I couldn’t find them on their website.

I really love shopping at Belk because I always find something easy that I can wear. I’m talking about extra-small sizes that are “true to size”, Belk has it! Talking about great deals? Belk has it. If you’re like me who loves clearance deals? Belk has them. The Belk store in our area always has a bountiful clearance section, which is the first area I am drawn to visit every time I go there to shop.

Come On Feel The Noise Graphic Tank Top + The Superstar Legging

SALE! UP TO 80% OFF! HURRY ENDS SOON!

How’s your Saturday? Hope you had a wonderful day. My family had a great time today. We went to the park and let the boys played until they were tired to play more. Today, I’m sharing with you my latest picks. Not so much though! Went to my favorite store ( Belk ) to look for great deals. Belk always has great deals so if you don’t shop there, you’ll miss out a lot of great deals.

This “Come on Feel The Noise” graphic tank topby #TRUECRAFT is comfortable plus I got this tee for only $4.99! Babes, I’m not an expensive shopper. I look for something that I can wear, look good, and doesn’t cost much. Let’s be practical these days.

Now, about this legging, I’m wearing a size small. I wear extra-small but didn’t find my size. As you can see, it’s a little loose on me. The extra-small would be perfect. I love the material, it’s soft and comfortable! The only thing I don’t like about this white legging is the fact that it’s hard to keep it clean. Also, the length is a little too long for me. I’m only 4 foot and 11 inches. Overall, it’s all about how comfortable it is though.

5 Thrift Store Shopping Tips

Shopping at a thrift store or in short “thrifting” is not for everybody. Some people don’t even wanna hear the word “thrift store”. Some people loves it. I’m one of those people who love thrift stores. Every time I shops at a thrift store I always get out with a very big smile, and always proud with the stuff I found. Just don’t be afraid to dig and get your hands dusty/dirty.

Below, I’m gonna share with you my shopping tips before I go to any thrift store.

Ain’t this vest so cute?

START WITH A PLAN

Don’t just go to a thrift store or even in any other store without a plan. Think about what you want to look for. Be specific and write it down. I have to write down stuff all the time otherwise I forget. Yes, I’m that forgetful (sounds awful right?). One of my biggest for writing down what I want is to have a guide also. I love vintage stuff. Honestly, they’re like candies to me. But having a guide or note I can actually focus and prioritize what’s on my list.

BE READY TO GET YOUR HANDS DUSTY/DIRTY

To those who hasn’t been to a thrift store, get ready. Sometimes the dust can be overwhelming. Some thrift stores ain’t that dusty, but some are, just saying. If you’re not willing to get your hands dusty or dirty, then you should stick to shopping at the mall or a boutique.

TAKE YOUR TIME

Thrift store can be overwhelming. I spend an hour or two every time I’m thrifting. So, before you even go thrifting, make sure that you have plenty of time to spare for it. No need to rush, there’s no fun thrifting if you’re rushing. You might miss a diamond somewhere because you’re rushing and don’t wanna look around, hahaha. There’s plenty of great stuff or great deals at any thrift store that’s worth checking out. Time, time, time….because baby, all you need is time.

CHECK YOUR PICKS

Once you found the stuff from your list don’t get too excited. One thing you should do first before you even check out is to check your items. Make sure there’s no holes, ripped stitches, or stains. Ripped stitches ain’t that bad if you can sew then great! I can’t stand stains so I always check my picks not just once just to be sure.

ALWAYS THANK THE PERSON AT THE REGISTER WHEN CHECKING OUT

Before leaving the store, always thank the person at the register with the great deals you have found. Everyone loves to hear that. It lighten up someone’s day.

A Pop Of Pink Flowy Dress In Winter

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I’m not a winter person. I really can’t stand cold. Even though I have been living in the United States for ten years, but I’m still a tropical person. However, I maybe don’t like the cold weather, but I love the winter fashion looks – from the boots, scarves, cardigans, coats and head caps.

I’m loving this High Neck Flowy Dress. The material is so soft and cool to my skin which I love the most. The fact that I can also wear this style in spring time is an additional points for me. The size I’m wearing here is extra-small. However, if you wear extra-small size you probably should get the “small” size. The extra-small size shoulder width is a little bit narrow. Not so much though, just a little bit.

ABOUT THE COLOR?

As a matter of fact, I was not a “pink color” fan, but that has changed after I got this dress. I realized that the pink color looks good on my skin. So, yay!! I’m pleased with that. I love that the style and the color of this dress go really with my furry scarf (the one I’m wearing here is sold out so I’m linking a similar one ), tan high heel boots, and this cute Brahmin crossbody bag ( this style is also sold out, I’m linking similar one here ).

Winter Fashion style.

Custom Designs: Floral Wrapping Papers

How do you like wrapping a present for someone? What designs do you choose for a wrapper? For now, I’m gonna share with you my 10 picks of the day wrapping papers. I have friends who are having birthdays. Most of them are not pretty much soon, but that is one of the things I need to make it up this year. I am so forgetful. My friends and workmates used to laugh at me because I think for them it’s quite funny how I forget things that quick. To be honest, I had this problem since after I gave birth to my first child. I literally couldn’t remember my birthday and other things. I’ll talk about it some other time.

Anyway, last year, I was working in a retail job. You know working in retail is not like go to work and don’t do anything. It’s not like that at all, especially at my work. Not to mention the place, but all of us ( my workmates – including me ) had to work hard. Lifting boxes, climbing on the ladder, and etc. That time, I really forgot some of my friends birthdays. That’s why this year, I will try my very best to be prepared, starting from finding a nice gift wrapper. For most people, gift wrapper is not the most important thing when giving gifts which I totally agree. However, that will be part of my preparation for this year. It’s fun to do something a little different, don’t you think? Something that makes your gift more special because of the effort you will put into it before giving it to someone special – friends and families.

Meet Daisy:Schnauzer + Havanese Breed

I always wanted to have a dog, but never thought that day would come. Sometimes, when Sean and the boys are not home, I feel so alone. The house is so quiet, and sometimes I talk to myself, lol. Have you ever felt that way when you’re alone? Well, that’s my case.

One day, Sean visited his family in Springfield, Missouri. At his parents house was a cute puppy. She was a rescue puppy. She’s a Schnauzer + Havanese breed. I didn’t know about her yet until Sean called me on the phone and told me about her. I was like “send me a picture of her, please”. When I received the photos that Sean sent me, guess what? I was like a little kid wanting for candies, hahaha. Right then, I asked him to bring her home. I was so excited!

My Dog Named Daisy

Meet my furry baby girl, Daisy. When she arrived home with Sean, I was not the only one who was so excited, but also my two boys who are 10 and 7-years-old. Their reaction was “mommy…..look, it’s a puppy!” We were so happy to finally met her.

Daisy made us smile and laugh almost all the time. She is such a sweetheart! Also, I never thought I would sleep with a dog beside me. Maybe she thinks she’s a human. We love her dearly! Whenever my boys are ready for bed time, Daisy knows that it’s time to say good night to them and she’ll get excited; jumping on their beds and licked their faces; wants them to scratch her tummy.

She is a blessing to us and we love her so much. She is so special. It warms my heart to hear my boys giggling all the time, and playing with her. We’re blessed to have her.

There are days that she goes with me to my kids school to pick them up. When she see the boys at the pick up area, she’ll wag her tail like it will never stop at all. Before, at the school pick up area, my boys would say “hi mommy” as soon as they get into the vehicle. Now, they’re like “oh my God, hi Daisy! Are you happy to see us, Daisy?” Am I jealous? Of course not! It makes me more happier to see my boys that happy. Bless their hearts!

Fun Day With My Dog

With her fluffy ears and wagging tail, how can I not smile? From the very first day, she always put a smile on my face and the faces of my family. It’s very true that there are benefits that dogs bring to our lives. Gosh, there’s never a dull moment in the house now.

Personally, petting her and talking to her helps me relax. Whenever I feel stressed ( everybody get stressed out sometimes ), I noticed that it wasn’t as bad as before. There is a big change in my mood since Daisy has been with us. She cracks me up all the time and I love it!

My Dream Kitchen:Five Best Kitchen Ideas

socialmediapostmaker_11012019_140217

I’m going to start with these following questions.

  1. Do you like to cook?
  2. How often do you cook?
  3. Are you comfortable moving around your kitchen when cooking?
  4. Do you have the space you need to move around in your kitchen while cooking?

I actually asked those questions to myself often, and here are my answers.

  1. Do you like to cook? – Yes, I love to cook!
  2. How often do you cook? – I used to cook everyday but not anymore.
  3. Are you comfortable moving around your kitchen? – To be honest, no! I’m claustrophobic. I’m can’t stay in my kitchen for long without feeling dizzy, getting headache and the fact that I will start getting clumsy.
  4. Do you have the space you need to move around in your kitchen while cooking? -The answer in no. As a mentioned above I’m claustrophobic. I love a spacious kitchen where I can freely move without tripping; without getting headache; and without feeling dizzy.  I always feel like that when I’m in a small space. I have two little boys, and when they are in the kitchen with me I’m always trying to out just to take deep breath.

Having this kind of issue, I just wish we have a bigger kitchen! Browsing online for kitchen ideas is very helpful. There are 5 best kitchen ideas I picked. My picked might not be your style. Everyone is different; everyone have different style. However, if I win in lottery, one of these designs will be my kitchen look. I wish….I wish….I wish!

Okay, here’s my picks. All images below are linked to the websites where I found these ideas.

Dollar Tree Day:Dollar Tree Finds

Good Monday to all! How was your weekend? Hope you had a great weekend. About me and my family, yes we had a great weekend. Today is Monday January 7th and my boys are back to school. Oh gosh, I didn’t want to get up early. I’m a night owl person not an early bird. It’s all good though, that’s life!

I have a question, how many of you like going to Dollar Tree store? I do love Dollar Tree. I go there three times a week or sometimes more. There’s so much merchandise that I love from that store.

My boys are in school so I decided to go and get something from Dollar Tree. However, I did not get a lot today. Just a few of my favorite things to pick up every time when I’m there, it’s candles and chocolates! LOL. Not just candles and chocolates for today though. I luckily found these notebooks that say “LITTLE, BUT FIERCE and GIRL BOSS”. I love it, love it, love it! I think I got them on time before it was all gone. These are the last two notebooks left.
